He received his staff of office from the Governor on the 7th December 2015 at Enuwa Square, ile ife osun state, in the presence of several dignitaries including vice president of Nigeria, prof Yemi Osibanjo.

He had his basic education in the city of Ibadan before returning to ile ife, to complete his secondary education at st peters secondary school ile ife, After his secondary education he proceeded to the polytechnic of Ibadan, where he studied Accounting, it is good to know that he his chartered accountant.

He his also the founder and managing director of Gran Imperio Group, which covers real estate, construction, manufacturing arm of the group.

The Ooni have been involved with several women in his life. His first known romantic relationship was with a woman named Olatunbosun Omolara, his relationship with omolara gave birth to his only child for now named Princess Adeola Ogunwusi in May, 1994, However the relationship with Omolara never goes beyond co-parenting.
In 2008 Oba Ogunwusi got married to Adebunkunola Bombata, their relationship did not produce any child, they officially got divorced shortly after is coronation in October 2016.
The exit of Adebunkunola ushered in Zainab Wuraola Otiti, Wuraola was subsequently crowned the Queen. About one and half year into their marriage tragedy struck, the couple broke up and went their separate ways.
The Ooni took time before rushing into another marriage, on Friday, October 19, 2018 the Ooni announced to the whole world that he has found a new bride.
The new bride full name is Shilekunola Oluwaseyi Naomi Morenike who happens to be an evangelist, she is the founder of En-Herald ministry in akure, Ondo State.
