Her real name is Francine Koffie. Although, she is often called by the stage name Fantana. Fantana revealed that her close friends used to call her Fantana when she was much younger in age and so during the process of becoming a Ruff Town signee, her boss Bullet advised on taking up the name Fantana as stage name which she happily agreed to.

She disclosed that she met Ruff Records Owner ‘Bullet’ through her social media friend Wendy Shay. She explained that she had been sending her song recordings to Wendy Shay who in turn, gave them to “Bullet” for listening. Rufftown boss, however, loved the songs and the rest they say is history.
