It has been Months after the split of the duo Psquare, Peter one half of the group explains that it was the disrespect directed towards himself and his family that pushed him to quit.
Peter Okoye, now known as Mr P, says his brother Paul would insult his wife and kids and expect a Psquare performance moments later.
Peter married Lola Omotayo-Okoye in 2015 and they have two children named Cameron and Aliona. “In life what we call family value is important,” said the ‘Ebeano’ singer said on Citizen TV in Kenya. “The fans want Psquare but how many times do you want Psquare to come back and break up. “We’ve broken up three times and the same issue is still there. So if Psquare is going to come back we need to settle that issue. Psquare might come back, they might not come back.
Peter said he must put his wife and children first because of the vow he made on his wedding day. “I pulled out the plug because I felt the disrespect coming from my family (was) getting too much,” he said. “There’s something we call marginalisation. Don’t ever be a slave because you want to be family. “Psquare can only come back if the respect comes 100 percent. “I don’t disrespect my brother’s wife neither, his family but he does that to me all the time. 1. Nwankwo is confident and articulate
Simy is a rare breed of footballer who can not only express himself comfortably, but does so with the measured confidence and calm of a man who knows exactly where he wants to be and wants to do in life.
He has no airs, affects no accent, but just talks like an everyday boy next door, with an open, honest thoughtfulness.
He’s intelligent and, on the evidence so far, could be the one player most likely to launch himself into his studies or thrive as a TV pundit after his playing career.
2. Before he was Simy, he was Kanu
The forward’s frame drew inevitable parallels to the Nigeria great.
At 1.98m, Simy is just slightly taller than the 1.97m Nwankwo Kanu, and the comparisons were also fuelled by their similar names.
Friends and teammates used to call him Kanu after the former Arsenal striker, and it was a name he gladly embraced.
It was not until he moved to Europe that the nickname changed.
“My manager who took me to Portugal had difficulty pronouncing my middle name Tochukwu, so he just called me Simy and it has been like that since,” Nwankwo told KweséESPN.
Quite why the coach didn’t opt for ‘Simeon’ remains to be seen.
3. The hitman was forged during tough experiences
In his seven-odd years in Europe, Simy has scored 55 goals from 188 league appearances.
That is an average of a goal every 3.4 games, but there was one season when he failed to register a single goal.
That was his first year in the Portuguese top flight, when he joined Gil Vicente from Portimonense SC.
He didn’t find the net at all in 15 appearances, but the striker insists that it was the most important season of his career.
“That is the only season I didn’t score a single goal but I can say with all honesty that it was one of my most important years,” he added.
“Going through that experience of not playing much, scoring zero goals, I learnt a lot about myself. It taught me so much, especially about my mental strength, and I think that is what prepared me for the latter years.
“Now I can control my emotions and be strong even when things aren’t going so well,” he continued. “That year was very important to me.”
The very next season, Simy made 30 league appearances and scored nine goals, adding two in the cup for good measure.
Sadly, the goals were not enough to save the club from relegation, but there was no slowing Simy down the next season, as he plundered 20 goals for his highest return and secured a move to Serie A.
4. Family man, father figure
Simy is the eldest of three kids. The other two are twins, and both have just graduated; his sister as a nurse and his brother as a physiotherapist.
Sadly, neither of them has been able to come and visit him in Europe as yet.
“They have been so busy with school that they have not had time to come visit,” Simy continued.
“They are preparing their own future, and holidays I come home, but I love them too much and I am very proud of them.”
As the elder sibling, Simy says he is the second daddy of the house.
“After my dad, I am the head of the house,” he joked, “so I am used to taking responsibility.”
5. His ‘best goal’ wasn’t scored on the pitch
For a man who has scored 55 career goals, it was surprisingly pretty easy for Simy to pick his best…and it wasn’t among the 55!
“My wife is the best goal I ever scored,” Simy added. “I know I have scored a few, but she is the best.
“In everybody, there is a need to find someone who completes your puzzle and she completes mine.”
The pair met through a mutual friend, and Simy says he took his time and prayed over the decision to get married.
“I am Catholic and so is she,” he concluded. “So it was like a match made in heaven for us.”

Why are some people so cruel and wicked to their fellow humans? The guys who did this are just heartless, to say the least.
As you read this, doctors are battling to save the life of a female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) doing her one-year mandatory service.
She’s serving in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The corps member was reportedly assaulted and r*ped by a 15-man gang of robbers. The robbers invaded the ‘Corpers Lodge’ at Yenizue Gene, a suburb of Yenagoa, about 3a.m. yesterday.
It was learnt that the armed robbers overpowered the neighbourhood vigilantes who are usually armed with only sticks and machetes. Emboldened, the hoodlums reportedly went to the NYSC Corpers Lodge where they forcibly took away a female corps member.
According to a resident of the community, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the lady was repeatedly r*ped by the hoodlums who took her in turns.
She was later taken to the hospital for treatment.
Sources say though the police were alerted, there was little they could do because the area had been thrown into darkness due to power outage. A vigilante, who gave his name simply as Tonye, said the security men were afraid of running into an ambush.
For now indigenes of Yenizue Gene, who have been complacent over the issue of security, are contemplating forming a vigilance group to tackle crime in their community.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Asinim Butswat told New Telegraph that he had not got a clear information about the incident.

A dismissed US soldier identified as Garrick Slacks, has been arrested by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the Imo State Police Command, for allegedly defrauding Nigerians with fake promises to secure visas and other travelling documents to US.
The suspect who is currently in Police custody following his arrest on Saturday, admitted that he was dismissed from the US military in 2015 over his involvement in cocaine peddling.
It was gathered that two pairs of military uniform, a cash of over N2m, military fez cap, jungle boot, fake military identity card, fake driving licence and a car, which he used in making his fraud look real were recovered from the suspect.
Southern City News reported that a police source alleged that the dismissed US soldier was in Nigeria on a special mission to defraud Nigerians, adding that he changed his location immediately money was paid to him.
“He was a serial fraudster who had used his position as a foreigner to defraud Nigerians, who are desperate to travel abroad, especially to the US.”
“He is a serial and sophisticated fraudster. He was arrested this afternoon (Saturday) while he was hurriedly leaving Owerri for Port Harcourt.
“He is equally impersonating the US Army and Nigerian Army at the same time. His targets are mostly women. He would promise them marriage and tell them that he had the capacity to secure their visas and other travelling documents to America with his position as a colonel in the US Marine Army and as an American citizen.
“He has confessed to the crime and the forensic investigation we have done using his fingerprints revealed that he is a wanted man in California and he only ran to Nigeria in February to continue his heinous crimes.
“Just five days ago, he defrauded a young widow N500,000 with a fake promise that he would secure stay visa for the widow’s three children. He was about running away from Owerri before we tracked him. Could you imagine that the lady we used in tracking him, he had promised to marry her on meeting her for the first time this afternoon (Saturday)
“All the exhibits we recovered from him are fake. The military identities which he used to make his fraudulent activities look genuine. He was even beating security men to this game until we nabbed him,” he said.
On his own part, the dismissed US soldier who said he was sorry for his actions and was ready to make amends if given the opportunity, added that he came into the country in February and was ready to refund one of his victims (the widow) her money. The widow became the suspect’s victim in her bid to afford good life for her three children.
Confirming the arrest of the suspect, the Imo State Police Commissioner Mr Dasuki Galandanchi, described the development as one of the dividends of community policing in the state as instructed by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris.

What the experience of the last three years have taught us is that the most important task that we face as a country is how to reunite our people. Never before had so many people in so many parts of our country felt so alienated from their Nigerianness.
Therefore, we understand that the greatest task before us is to reunite the county and give everyone a sense of belonging regardless of region or religion.
Every Nigerian must have an instinctive confidence that he or she will be treated with justice and equity in any part of the country regardless of the language they speak or how they worship God.
This is the great task that trumps all. Unless we are able to achieve this, all other claim to progress, would remain unsustainable. This is the task that I am committing myself to and I believe that it is in this PDP, that I will have the opportunity to play my part.
It is my hope that the APC will respect the choice that I have made as my democratic right, and understand that even though we will now occupy a different political space, we do not necessarily become enemies unto one another.

A young Nigerian has given an account of what became of a lady who humiliated his father years ago.
The young man said his father was struggling some years back and a woman made fun of him for his situation and even cursed him that he will always remain in the same situation. Years later, his father’s lot in life improved but the woman’s situation got worse.
The young man recently ran into the woman selling on the street in the rain and he made sure to gloat.
After he shared the story on Facebook, some rejoiced with him, saying the woman got her karma. But there were those who pointed out that he shouldn’t have repaid evil with evil.

In fact, these images represent imitations made from schematics and information that comes directly from the tech giant Apple production line. Still, they can be very revealing and show details that go against reality.
