Barring any last minute changes, Former fractional National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one time governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sheriff, will today defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The three-term senator, will return along with PDP’s 2015 gubernatorial candidate in Borno State, Alhaji Gambo Lawan. Confirming the defection to newsmen, a member of the Borno State Executive Council who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Sheriff will be received by the national chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and other senior officials of the ruling party later today,

Senator Sheriff was a pioneer chieftain of the APC,  having joined the erstwhile main opposition party as member of the defunct All Nigerian People’s Party, (ANPP). He defected to the PDP in 2014 in controversial circumstances.

President Trump and Kanye West may have exchanged tweets on Wednesday, but they haven’t talked in person since the president’s transition, according to Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Reporters questioned if the two had been in communication after West tweeted that he “doesn’t agree with everything anyone does,” but “the mob” can’t make him not love Trump and the president thanked him on Twitter in response.

In his absence, Christianity was born and with it, came Men of God who have also performed some miracles in His name.

Some have succeeded in converting many souls with their divine acts, while others have only managed to mock the Christian religion.

I think it is safe to say that South African pastors fall into these second category with their ‘miracles.’

10. Prophet Lethebo Rabalago uses Doom insecticide to ‘heal’ cancer, HIV: Pastor uses “Doom” insect killer on affected body parts of his church members. “Some people came with injuries but we sprayed them and they were healed. No one inspired me. I just believe in God for anything. Everything here on Earth belongs to God. Petrol belongs to God. Doom belongs to God,” he told the Times Live website.

Back in 2013, I joined tampan ( Theatre Arts And Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria) branch in Cairo. So, it all started from there. I came back to Nigeria last year December to start my acting career back here fully, because acting is one of my dreams so I am trying and putting more effort to make it come true.

I want an established career that would inspire others too, and to achieve that, I believe I need to fuel in more efforts day by day.

Kim Jong-un has become the first North Korean leader to step into the South for 65 years as he met with President Moon Jae-in for a historic peace summit on Friday.

The dictator crossed the 38th parallel and warmly shook hands with his sworn enemy before both men walked side-by-side to a welcome ceremony attended by flamboyantly-dressed South Korean soldiers.

Moving on to the truce village of Panmunjom, Kim signed the guest book at the Peace House, which will be the venue for talks focusing on whether the North can be persuaded to give up its nuclear bombs.

‘New history starts from now, at the historic starting point of an era of peace,’ he wrote.

In televised talks shortly afterwards, Kim said he was ready for ‘heartfelt, sincere and honest’ discussions with Moon, although he did not mention denuclearization.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that the U.S. President Donald Trump’s invitation to President Muhammadu Buhari to the White House is a proof of the cordial relations between the two countries.

Mohammed in New York during his engagements with media and a couple of think-tank in the U.S.

The Minister is in the U.S. to showcase some of the achievements of the Buhari’s administration to the U.S. and the world.

He said: “I think it would be presumptuous to really know or say what he (Trump) is going to discuss with Mr President (Buhari).

“But clearly, that he (Buhari) is being invited by President Trump shows the growing cooperation between the U.S. and Nigeria and I think it portends well for both countries”

Trump is due to host Buhari on Monday, April 30, at the White House to discuss issues including “fighting terrorism” and economic growth.

“President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to enhance our strategic partnership and advance our shared priorities: promoting economic growth and reforms, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security, and building on Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in the region.

“The relationship of the United States with Nigeria is deep and strong, and Nigeria’s economic growth, security, and leadership in Africa will advance our mutual prosperity,” the White House had said.

Buhari would be the first African leader that Trump would host at the White House since his inauguration on Jan. 20, 2017.

Recall that the Nigerian president was the first African leader Trump called on phone following his inauguration as the U.S. president.

Diplomatic experts said the developments have only reaffirmed the strategic importance of the Nigeria-U.S. bilateral relations and Nigeria’s strategic position in Africa.

Also recall that former U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson also visited Nigeria in February in a first five-country African tour embarked upon by any official of the administration.
