Comcast is an American Telemedia conglomerate with headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

By revenue earned, Comcast is the second-biggest cable television and broadcasting company in the world, and while in the United States, it is the largest home internet service provider, largest cable tv, largest pay-tv company, and third-largest telephone service provider.

Comcast provides services to millions of people (residential and commercial) in America, operating in 40 states.

Comcast owns NBCUniversal, an international media company since 2011, making Comcast the producer of several feature movies and television programs meant for on-stage display, and on-air and cable tv broadcast.

Formerly known as American cable Systems when it was established in 1963, and rebranded to Comcast Holdings in 1969, before settling for Comcast Corporation in 2011.

Comcast was created on the 28th of June, 1963 in Tupelo, Mississippi, by Ralph J. Roberts and two of his business partners, Julian A. Brodsky, and Daniel Aaron after they bought it from its original creators for $500,000. At that time, it had only 5 channels and 12,000 customers.

In 1988 Comcast bought a 50% share of SCI Holdings in a merged deal with Tele-Communications Inc., and further went on to buy American Cellular Network Corporation in the same year for $230 million.

Ralph J. Roberts’ was succeeded by his son, Brian L. Roberts as the president of Comcast in February 1990. It became America’s 3rd biggest cable operator in 1994with over 3.5 million active subscribers after it bought Maclean-Hunter’s American Division for $1.575 billion.

In 2001, Comcast announced it would buy the assets of AT&T who were the biggest cable television at that time for $44.5 billion, the deal was completed in 2002 making comcast the biggest in the country with 22million Americans as subscribers.

Brian Roberts is the CEO and Chairman of Comcast, which was founded by his father, he was born into a Jewish family on June 28th, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Brian graduated from Germantown Academy and in 1981 got his Bachelor of Science degree from Wharton School of the University of Philadelphia, after which he immediately began working for Comcast.

He currently owns 33½ voting rights of the company and was named president in 1990 when Comcast’s annual revenue was $657 million, under his supervision the annual revenue of Comcast Corporation has risen to 94.5 billion. He is also the chairman board of director of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association (NCTA), where he once served as a treasurer.

Robert is married to Aileen Kennedy Roberts, they have three children (Sarah, Tucker and Amanda), and they all live in Philadelphia. He owns two sailing boats of 48 ft and 65ft and are both named after his wife Aileen, he is fond of sailing on them while on vacation.

He has been named the most powerful businessman in Pennsylvania, list of influential people in Pennsylvanian politics.

Robert is a strong figure in politics, donation over $90,000 to both Democrats and Republican candidates. In the 2016 US presidential elections, Roberts supported the Candidate of the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton.

Brian L. Robert’s annual salary is $32.5 million and has a net worth of $2 billion.
