DEMOCRACY DAY SPEECH BY SENATOR DINO MELAYE.
As we celebrate this 19th Democracy year, we pause to give thanks to God for raising a generation that has never known military rule, and knows only democracy as a form of Government, with the freedom it brings under the rule of law.
This 8th National Assembly under the leadership of Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara continues to set new benchmarks defending democracy in challenging economic and social circumstances, and in the face of significant obstruction from elements within the administration.
Distinguished Senators of this 8th Assembly have passed some of the most far reaching pieces of legislation and conducted some of the most intrusive hearings in our recent democratic history.
Legislation such as the Petroleum industry Governance Bill will position the oil and gas industry to meet the challenges of the next generation. In all we have passed more bills and conducted more Hearings than any other Senate in the history of Nigerian democracy.
On the floor of the Senate and in our constituency, we have highlighted the plight of the people of Kogi in general and Kogi West in particular, who i am privileged to represent. We have sought to introduce measures to alleviate the suffering of the masses, while demanding answers and action from the Buhari administration as to why unemployment has increased from 8% in 2015 to its current levels when 1/3 are out of work.
We look forward to the democracy day that the 43% of the 2.4 million employable but unemployed or underemployed Kogi citizens can celebrate as gainfully employed, and pledge not to rest until we have done everything in our power to promote jobs for Kogites and Nigerians. Today is a day of celebration of how far we have come and how far we have still to go.
We look forward to a Democracy day when the coercive forces of the state are more appropriately devoted to providing security to protect the lives and property of our citizens and preventing crime, deterring terrorism and making Nigeria an attractive place to live and work, and for foreigners to invest in.
As we move to electing the 9th Assembly in 2019, we look forward to a democracy day where Kogites and Nigerians reward, at the ballot box, those who have kept their campaign promises and hold to account those who made excuses. After 5 rounds of elections and 19 Democracy years, I congratulate you all my fellow Nigerians on Nigeria coming of democratic age. Above all I look forward to celebrating a democracy where young Nigerians will not need a Senator or note from the presidency to get jobs in either NNPC or CBN. I score the federal government very low in Human Rights and outright regard for the National Assembly by both the presidency and her appointees. Government must become born again and dignify the lives and welfare of Nigerians. We must graduate from murmuring and apportining blames to the real essence of governance. Nigerians must come out of their cocoons and take back their county from economic scavengers and financial cankerworms. In an unjust society silence is a crime.

Kenyan actress, Jacqueline Nyamide ‘Wilbroda’ Cries Out: My HIV Positive Househelp Breastfed My Son
Kenyan actress, Jacqueline Nyamide, popularly known as Wilbroda, has been left in shock after discovering that her househelp breastfed her son when he was eight months-old.
Speaking to a Kenyan Parent Magazine, Wibroda said that the incident became known after she got an anonymous tip while on a trip to Mombasa.
Wibroda disclosed that she received a call that the househelp was breastfeeding the child to make him stop crying.
When my son, Xolani, was around 8 months old, I had to travel to Mombasa on a work assignment and so I left him under the care of a nanny whom I had trusted so much. While in Mombasa, I received an anonymous call from a person who informed me that my househelp breast fed my son whenever he cried,”
Worse still she found out the maid was HIV positive.
“I took the first flight back to Nairobi. I had to verify the information from my neighbours and in the process, I was informed that my nanny not only breastfeeds my son but was also living with HIV.”
“I didn’t sleep that night and had to rush to the hospital around midnight to have my son tested.
“Fortunately, he was fine. To cut the long story short I fired the nanny the following day.
It took immense self-control to restrain myself from harming her,” she said

She Describes Her Background here: I was born and raised in Lagos State to a police officer father and a businesswoman mother, both of them are natives of Ewohimi (Ishanland) in Edo state, South-South Nigeria.
Although we were not particularly affluent, it was a closely-knit family full of love. And as the only girl in the family, I was the centre of attraction and affection of not only my parents, but my siblings as well.
I had my primary education at Mayflower primary school Ikenne, Ogun State, and secondary school education at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Onitsha, before proceeding to study Mass Communication at Bowie State College, Maryland, USA. On my return from USA, I went into business and was doing wonderfully well.
Consequently when the nudging began to go into ministry work, I conveniently ignored it. Evang. Elishama CTEM is creating awareness on the plight of the needy However, a series of bizarre and soul-stirring experiences made me answer the Lord call to go into ministry. After four years, on March 11th, 2000, I finally succumbed to God’s call.
Now, I am completely sold out for Him! I have carefully put this account together in my book: The Authority of a Believer As an Evangelist, my local assembly is The Redeemed Christian Church of God, and my official parish is Mercy Land parish, Odulami Street, Lagos.
My late husband, John Ideh was a member of the pastorate of this parish until he went to be with the Lord on February 7th, 2004.
I was a worker in RCCG for years before I was called into the ministry. CTEM Christ The Ever-Present Ministries (CTEM) is not a church.
It’s a faith-based organization founded solely with an audacious mandate: to reveal the love of Christ to the lost in our generation, to reach the unsaved, rejected, oppressed and destitute; those generally regarded as dregs of society, with the gospel of salvation and in the process, restore hope to them by sharing His love, not just by word of mouth, but by practical demonstration of the character of God, which is love.
Some believe that ministering to these people is difficult, but I believe that whenever God commissions you to do a task, He goes ahead of you and waters the ground for you to work on. Ministering to area boys When the Lord sent me out to the street, I did not envisage the area boys as an addition to my calling. I was just focusing on the abandoned, the destitute, the orphans, prostitutes and the widows. But it got to a season in my work on the street, that we now desired an office where people could meet with me for counseling because prior to that time, we would just carry our chairs and tables to the streets and under the bridges and that was where my office was as we moved along in the work.
But where the Lord eventually pointed out to be our office location was already inhabited with about 150 area boys, drug addicts and drug sellers and the Lord said I have given you the land, take care of the giants in it’s. That scared me to death because I was wondering why it should be an area occupied by armed robbers, drug dealers, miscreants that have to be our office location in Ogba area. Anyway, by faith, I stepped out to do the assignment.
But on my first attempt to enter the land, my workers were beaten black and blue for trying to come in to possess the land. This particular land happened to be a property I was working on before the Lord called me into ministry. I abandoned it because of all the problems associated with the land. I ran back to the Lord, and by His leading, I organized an all-night crusade in a motor garage next to the land. And that night, all the area boys, armed robbers, drug dealers that were inhabiting the land gave their lives to Christ, and that was how we were able to take possession of the land. That was also how area boys were added to my ministry, in fact, they joined the workers to make sure that the construction of the property went on smoothly.
Unique style God has given us wisdom on how to minister to this set of people. We make sure we come down to their level; we organize our crusades in such a way that it will not have a religious setting in order to catch their attention. The sort of music we play is the sound they are used to. We bring gospel music to them in the form of Apala, juju, reggae, alanta, generally street sound but imbibed with anointing of the Holy Ghost, then we feed them and clothe them, we identify what brought them out to the street.
The ones we can reconcile with their families back we reconcile, and the ones we can’t we give a new lease of life. A lot of people think that these group of boys called the area boys are a set of completely wasted people. This happens to be the people God called me to minister to and we have recorded tremendous testimonies. We have watched the lives of these young men transform dramatically in a very short space of time.
Most of them have been empowered economically and are doing well. Poverty in our land In our land right now, poverty is on the increase, and this is because we ve failed to understand that poverty arises as a result of the mismanagement and failure to properly harness our God-given natural resources and the insensitivity of any government to the welfare of its people.
Thus, we are making conscientious efforts to educate leaders of churches on the importance of getting involved in the polity of the nation and why the walls of the church needed to be broken so that the light and the salt of the earth, which they have been called to be, will be extended to the exteriors of the nation since only righteousness can exalt a nation.

Dr. Elishama Rosemary Ideh is a female presidential aspirant on the platform of Alliance for a New Nigeria (ANN), Dr. Elishama Rosemary Ideh, has declared that she will defeat President Muhammadu Buhari and other aspirants in the fourth come 2019 elections.
Ideh stated this yesterday in Abuja while declaring her intention to contest the 2019 presidential poll, noting that she is confident that she would defeat incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and other presidential candidates at the election.
The presidential hopeful, who said that what the country needs at the moment is a new model of governance, stated that she was prepared for the task ahead if voted as President in next year’s general election.
Ideh added that she has articulated workable solutions to address the myriad of problems confronting the country.
“We will confront the monster of corruption with utmost vigour, but with a different mindset from past and current efforts. We will fight corruption in all its tangible and intangible manifestations. We will strive to enhance the Independence and autonomy of the EFCC in terms of its funding, privileges, powers and even the composition of its leadership,” she said.
“Unlike our opposition, who seek to use the EFCC as an attack dog to fight their opposition while shielding their friends from the consequences of corruption and other misdemeanors, we are confident in giving the EFCC the latitude it needs to carry out its statutory mandate and to prosecute cases without bias or prejudice, simply because we have nothing to hide.”
She further stated that Nigeria needs “a leader who combines integrity with intelligence and a deep and vast understanding of the implications of the 21st global economy and Nigeria’s place in it.”
Why Christians should do politics Using the platform of Kingdom Dimensions Series, under PFANN, we make Christians realize that as long as they distance themselves from direct or active participation in politics, ostensibly under the notion that politics is dirty, we will continually be under the rule and dominion of the kind of leaders we have unfortunately been saddled with since independence. My plan for CTEM is for it to grow as an entity that will be able to create enough sensitivity and awareness in all the local government areas of the nation, in cities, towns, villages and everywhere apart from what we are doing in our little way as a ministry to effect changes in the plight of the poor and needy in our generation. Our plan is to create a lot of awareness on the plight of the needy in our society.
This is to make sure that there is provision, social security schemes and homes for the poor, misplaced, abandoned and afflicted, and that the government will adequately put schemes in place to make sure that the needs of these people are being met in the whole nation

Earlier today, he donated 30 brand new Buses,160 Motorcycles, 25 Tricycles (Keke Marwa) to residents of his constituency, Surulere 1.
The donation is part of a project tagged, A Multi-Layer Transportation Initiative to Empower and Ease Movement of Residents of Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, Lagos.

Bloodshed in Ekiti State: Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele Shot During Fayemi’s Campaign (Photos)
A member of the seventh House of Representatives and governorship aspirant in Ekiti, Opeyemi Bamidele, and one other person have been shot.
The shooting took place at the All Progressives Congress secretariat in Ajilosun, Ado-Ekiti, during a reception organised for the governorship candidate of the party, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
It was learnt that the bullet came from the rifle of a mobile policeman who was among those deployed to ensure security .
Bamidele has been rushed to an unknown hospital for treatment , while the yet- to – be – identified second victim is feared dead .

CBN Deputy Governor Adebayo Adelabu Resigns
President Muhammadu Buhari has formally accepted the disengagement of the Deputy Governor in charge of Operations at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, with effect from July 15, 2018.
In a letter dated May 24, 2018 and personally signed by him, President Buhari thanked Mr. Adelabu for his services to the country and wished him the best in his future ambitions.
“While appreciating your services in the Central Bank of Nigeria since 9th April 2014, I wish you the very best in your future ambitions and continued commitment to public service in our country and specifically, as you seek to play a more active role in politics, in your home State,” the letter stated.
Adelabu formally assumed duty as Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on April 9, 2014 and served at different times as Deputy Governor in charge of Financial System Stability (FSS), Corporate Services (CS), and lastly Operations (Ops), before he tendered his letter of disengagement.
The disengagement was not unconnected with his ambition of contesting the governorship of Oyo State in the forthcoming primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is a direct grandson of late Adegoke Adelabu (aka Penkelemesi), an articulate grassroots politician of the pre-independence political era.
He was an Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer, First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Plc. He holds a First Class degree in Accounting from the (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Instagram Big Boy Ademola Emmanuel Adeoti Arrested For Wired Fraud In The U.S
A Nigerian man identified as Ademola Emmanuel Adeoti aka Mr presidennt, has been arrested in Texas, following a petition filed against him by a complainant who accused him of wire fraud.
Adeoti, who was in 2012 also arrested for Felony, allegedly committed this recent offense in Tennessee in 2017, and fled to Texas.
A warrant of arrest was issued against him in May and has since been picked up. He is set to appear in court this month.
